Rasam recipe (without rasam powder)

Rasam recipe (without rasam powder):

Ingredients (1 cup )
  • 3 Tomato
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • 2 tbsp seed
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 dried red chilli
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • ½ cup tamarind extract
  • 3cloves garlic  chopped
  • ½tsp turmeric / haldi
  • 2green chilli slit
  • 1cup water
  • 2 tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped


Instructions

Firstly, boil tomatoes well in tamarind water, else the raw smell will remain. Boil tomato blend to smooth paste without adding any water.

Next large kadai heat 4 tbsp oil and splutter 1 tbsp mustard, 1tbsp seed, 1tbsp dal, few curry leaves and 2 dried red chilli fry few minutes and also add 4 cloves to garlic slightly golden. Then additionally add 2 onion and sauté well. Further add 1 tomato chopped and sauté slightly 2 minutes. After add tomato paste and ½ cup tamarind extract, ½ turmeric, green chilli, 1 salt, 1 cup water all mix well and boil 15 minutes. Finely and 2 tbsp coriander leaves and serve tomato rasam recipe hot steamed rice.
